Paris Exhibition at Linda Farrell Art Gallery

 I was honored to be invited to the prestigious Linda Farrell Art Gallery's first exhibition in Paris, where my artwork was prominently displayed at the forefront of the gallery and successfully sold. The Linda Farrell Gallery, renowned for its dedication to showcasing both established and emerging talents from around the world, is led by the esteemed director Anoush Mask, whose vision and expertise have made it a cultural beacon in Paris. I participated in this exhibition from Singapore, bringing my unique perspective to an international audience.

My artwork portrays a tender moment between a grandmother and her granddaughter, sitting together on a sofa and wearing each other’s glasses. Initially, they are frustrated by their differing opinions, but the memory panels above them serve as a reminder that they are shaped by different experiences and values. The symbolic act of switching glasses represents the effort to understand and empathize with each other's perspectives. This visual metaphor illustrates how our views of the world can be vastly different, yet we can strive to comprehend the reasons behind these differences. The artwork emphasizes the significance of empathy and the effort to see through another's eyes, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation. Through this piece, I explore the profound theme of intergenerational connection and the importance of bridging gaps in perception. It conveys a powerful message that, despite the distinct worlds we inhabit, there is beauty and strength in our attempts to understand and value each other’s unique experiences. This artwork highlights the enduring bond between generations and the shared journey toward empathy and acceptance.

Renowned French artist Alain Bazard, celebrated for his impressive, meticulous work in classical painting and restoration, praised Ivy Chen's artwork at the "Savants Exhibition." Bazard noted that her style reflects the sophistication of European animated productions, marked by modernity and exceptional graphic quality. He highlighted her skill in conveying complex ideas through descriptive, metaphor-rich compositions, calling her a promising talent to watch in contemporary art.
